2009
Fifteen years ago, we recognised a rising need among international companies in the Netherlands for specialised HR services. The market lacked English-language resources, tailored support, and purpose-built tools to meet these demands. From this gap, Human in Progress was born.
2015
Driven to build a community and have more HR information and documentation available in English, Marieke embarked on another mission and in 2015, she initiated the HRM Netherlands platform and community. A thriving online platform for professionals to exchange insights and Dutch industry experiences.
2020
In response to our clients' requesting for expanding learning opportunities, Marieke designed the courses and we initiated the Human in Progress Academy. Today, Human in Progress' services are used by employee-centric organisations, from small businesses to high-growth scale-ups to large organisations.

Marieke, the visionary founder of Human in Progress, embodies the essence of transformative leadership. At the age of 29, she founded Human in Progress that was not built on clichés or corporate HR; it was forged with one purpose: to become the leading HR services partner for international companies. Every advice stands on three solid pillars: legal compliance, market insights and HR best practice.
The company’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that true leadership and empowering others stems from authenticity. "I advocate for leadership in both business and life by embracing our vulnerabilities, celebrating our triumphs, and learning from our failures," Marieke shares.
