Dr. Vanessa Y. Stuart
Dr. Vanessa Y. Stuart, affectionately called Dr.V, Founder and Executive Director of Human Capital Investment, Inc. (HCI), is a NC Psychology Board recognized principal industrial/ organizational (I/O) psychologist and proud servant leader.Long before she was Dr.V, she was a young Bahamian American girl from Queens, New York. She learned early, in this life you are to commit your personal excellence to God, family and community.
Born to a famous Bahamian singer/songwriter father and mother, a medical educator and community activist from New York, this eclectic multi-cultured environment fueled her passion for the arts, science, global culture, education and community development. Her academic performance and extensive community involvement led to her early acceptance to college and relocation to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Today, she channels her life’s passion and business expertise into providing programming designed to meet the urgent needs of minority male youth ex-offenders. Dr.V seamlessly translates lessons learned in the boardroom working with senior and executive leadership to the classroom to help INNOVATE and INSPIRE small and minority-owned businesses.
During the span of over 20 years of service to Charlotte and greater NC, Vanessa has evolved from college student into community servant. She continues to be a source of motivation and determination as she tirelessly contributes to the growth of others. However above all, her greatest labor of love is being the mother of her son, Victor Emmanuel.
