Human Capital Investment, Inc. (HCI) provides a unique development and vocational training  experience that focuses on the 3Es of sustainability:

Equity. Environment. Economic.

Empowering minority men to leverage their strengths and expertise to address the critical needs of Charlotte; specifically food insecurity and affordable housing shortages.

Our Charge & Approach

Our goal is to Restore Opportunities Invest & Inspire (R.O.I.) so that men, who are ex-offenders, can rebuild themselves and transform communities together.

HCI recognizes the extreme state of emergency to provide young, minority men a comprehensive and well-coordinated approach that is grounded in evidence-based research and refined by the people with the most at stake, ex-offenders.

Uniquely, HCI's program offerings are based on the risk–need–responsivity* (RNR) and sustainability development* models. Our integrated system approach addresses multiple factors that increase the probability of re-incarceration.

*RNR is an intervention for offenders customized based on criminogenic need factors.

**Sustainability Development is to “meet the needs of the present generation without compromising future generations.” This development model is guided by three E's of sustainability: equity, environment, and economic.
